Great job Olympic

Postby ekim » Sun Nov 25, 2012 9:09 pm

Finally found a Oly Wolverine, it was a NOS gun with a low serial# and yes I had major feed problems. Sent it in on a Wed at 11:00 am, via UPS, got to Olympic Arms on Thursday at 9:15, upgraded and returned to me on Friday at 2:30 pm with upgrades and a spare magazine. Not to bad, about 48 hour turn around while traveling over 2500 miles. Loaded both mags twice and put 40 rounds thru it as fast as I could pull the trigger with two different brands of ammo, even HP's and not a hitch. I've talked to several people at Olympic Arms and they were so friendly and helpful. I thought I had a shelf piece at first, but I'm a happy camper now. :thumbs up:

Don't know yet, I got it back and put a few mags through it then had to go north for the holiday. Home for a few days now then back north again, my brother is having surgery, so time is tight for now. I like how it feels and points so I am hoping it will be a good shooter. I'm sure it will shoot better than my pistol skills though.

I have a Tan (FDE) colored model w/ FH ... it's a very fun shooting pistol, and this is by-far the lightest pistol in my collection. :D

Great Story! The Wolverine is on my short list. For no good reason - just because!

IMO, too bad that the gurus at OLY Arms did not decide upon a 1911 .22 cal version. With all the money put into a Whitney Wolverine pistol, I would think that Mr. Schuetz could have created an awesome original version of a Colt Service Ace (with the floating chamber pieces) or an original version of a Colt Ace, or both for much less money. I would think (IMO) that with the previous production line of 1911 pistols that this would have been a no-brainer. I guess Mr. Schuetz had a real zeal for the Whitney. Myself, I would not even entertain buying one because it does not interest me a bit.

I understand that Oly will not be producing 1911 pistols in the future. Very bad for us consumers, but I guess it is what it is. Glad I got my Oly frame when I did.
