Maybe I was making the wrong assumption. My expectation was that since I have been using handloads, OLY's warranty would not cover it. Are you saying that there might be some wiggle room here depending on the circumstances?

The fact that you were using handloads will void the warranty to repair the damage, ONLY if Oly determines that the damage was caused by your handload. If it is deemed that the handload was within acceptable tolerances (no signs of excessive pressure from other areas and components), and Oly's part(s) failed none the less, than it will still be covered under Oly's warranty.

Make sense?

Short answer: Yes - wiggle room exists.

kind of disappointing; as I have a 25WSSM … I think it would only benefit others like myself.

:?:
Does Trident Armory do anything to the barrel extension when they rework the barrel and put it on their upper?

They are a custom rifle manufacturer who buy Olys and re-barrel them with their interpretation of how the .300 OSSM chamber should be optimized for performance.

Here's a link to their version, though it doesn't elaborate much on it.

I would call them a VAR, Valued Added Reseller, of the 300. Custom upper and lower and reworked bolt and barrel. Same type of thing Dtech does too, with his custom porting/brakes, fluting... etc.

so we need to add them to this list …

1. Olympic Arms®
2. Dtech aka Mike Milli at Dedicated Technology
3. Accuracy System™ Inc.

I thought there were only (3) "Authorized Manufactures" of the WSSM variant(s) ...

I see it now ...

300 WSSM(OSSM)
This is a TRIDENT LOWER mated to a custom upper, with a 20” stainless bbl, long vented free float tube, and no sights. We order these rifles in from their manufacturer and re-chamber the barrel, re-crown the muzzle and tune the bolt to the max. Standard with MAGPUL PRS STOCK and 5 round magazine. As with all TRIDENT custom guns, expect MOA accuracy.

Value added is up for interpretation... Modified, yes, value added remains to be seen.

This is so NOT what Dtech is doing. Dtech buys the raw component parts and manufacturers the finished product using WSSM BCA's and barrel extensions. He does NOT buy complete uppers and then "reconfigure them".

NO! Never heard of these people (Trident)...

This list is still accurate and to the best of my knowledge will not grow.

So did this broken bolt upper come from this Trident company up in Bushmaster country???? If so, NO WARRANTY from Oly...

I clicked some links and reads through their "web site" at Trident. It makes my head hurt...
