Glock Lowers?

Postby 9milshooter » Thu Jan 12, 2017 6:25 am

We know that the OLY pistol uppers have the ejector mounted in the upper. I am wondering if anyone either has or has considered the use of one of the 9-mil Glock lowers in the market today? The Glock lowers are equipped with an ejector claw that can be removed. I am curious as to whether a Glock lower with the ejector removed would function mounted under the OLY upper? I have handled a friends PSA dedicated Glock 9-mil AR and discovered that it did not like reloads under 1.10". It would not feed anything much below a factory OAL of 1.15"....so I am also curious about feeding issues. The Glock lowers are showing-up at reduced prices, enough to make one very attractive.

Anybody???

Oly has a Glock lower that works with the Oly pistol cal uppers, but I have no idea about any other manufacturers Glock lower.

When you can pick-up a complete PSA Glock compatible lower for $180 and a free ship....it almost makes it worth a try. I see no reason why it won't as the OLY upper should work on any AR lower and mine is on a Bushmaster. Removal of the ejector from the PSA lower would not be a problem. I think feeding may be the only issue. I know that the complete PSA Glock AR simply will not feed anything but a factory 115-124 grain FMJ. A friend of mine has one and it chokes on most of my reloads below OAL of 1.15".

I seriously doubt that the Olympic Arms® upper-halve with dedicated e-spring™ would work on some other manufactures dedicated Glock® lower-halve

the 9mm pistol caliber configurations are mostly proprietary in nature; and for this reason, and this reason alone; I’m sure that they will not play well with others …

for me, it's not worth the money or the time and effort ...

absolutely …

and this is why I only buy Olympic Arms® … I owned a K9™ upper-halve for a number of years; and it ran flawlessly on anything I ran on the magazine.

I really don't know why I'd try it....something to do I suppose. There certainly is no problem with the set-up I'm running now. It's the availability of relatively cheap and numerous magazines I think.

yeah that's true, as the KCI Korean Glock magazines are reasonably priced.

I'm told that the Quarter Circle 12 units will work if the ejector in the lower is removed.
