Tight when charging

Postby mark4Jesus » Mon Jul 28, 2014 2:56 pm

I have noticed that with a mag inserted that pulling the charging handle is pretty tight. Is that typical of the pistol caliber carbines? I know it is noticeable compared to a 5.56 AR.

it can be I suppose, especially on a 'Fully Loaded' magazine too; but never really noticed it much when I had my K9 upper; as it was functioning on STEN magazines, and using an SNS Industries MWB-1 type Mag/Blocks

It operates fine and ejects brass a long way, so it's not a function issue. I know that sometimes certain symptoms are precursors to malfunction or an indication that the cleaning/oiling are not being done properly.

Is it only tight on a fully loaded magazine or is it still tight on an partial or empty magazine? It seems that if it is only tight on a fully loaded mag then the an obvious quick fix would be to leave one round out or only insert a mag with the bolt already locked to the rear.
