anyone else giving the GSG-5’s a look?

Postby Globemaster » Tue Feb 05, 2008 11:39 pm

I’ve been reading up on them for awhile now and have even email a company recently in order to get on their waiting list … as they are due to receive a batch of the newly released GSG-5 .22LR before the end of February.

with ammunition prices up in the stratosphere, I thought I’d invest in a carbine dedicated to the .22LR to go along with the AR15 AJ/Ciener Kit.

Is there anyone else out there contemplating? or even looking at them?

here’s one of the reviews that I read recently by a very well know author "Just Like the MP-5, But in .22!" an initial review of the GSG-5 ….. by Zak Smith

That is an evil looking .22. I was going to get a 10/22 and trick it out but that looks interesting! I would like a little more info on it. If you have/find any please link it fo me.

built to MP5 Specs in Germany by an Airsoft MFG, they've recently begun shipping to US dealers, .22lr, 16" only for the import, and you'll have to SBR it on your own, by all accounts a faithful MP5 reproduction, Accessories will also be forthcoming.

I've seen $450 - $600 as a retail

This GSG-5 subcarbine is undoubtedly fully on the wave of the current trend. It combines the high-technology, reliability and appeal of the H&K MP-5 submachineguns series with the tactical accessories mount so popular these days. The rimfire chambering (.22 Long Rifle) is the "Politically Correct" touch to realize a purely sporting-purpose firearm what will surely call even the most consumed "tactical" shooter for hours and hours of fun and inexpensive "soft" plinking sessions. All accessories made for the Heckler&Koch MP-5 sub-machineguns will fit (except sound moderators/suppressors, integrally-silenced barrels, select-fire trigger groups and original 9mm magazines).

I have been looking at this gun since I read about it on another bored. I have a thread on here with the links to those other boreds. Atlantic Arms is a member of the one bored and they reply to everyones questions on there all the time. I have also seen videos of the GSG-5 on youtube.

I think they are going to have hi cap mags for them also if I remember correctly. I do belive a lot of the MP5 parts will be interchangable like stocks and I think foregrips. If anyone buys it we need a range report. I think Atlanict arms is selling them for 499.00 and they give you discount if you belong to the AK bored and I think the link is www.gunsnet.net and the discount is on shipping.

we’ll … I finally got in touch with G&R Tactical today as they too we’re at the Shot Show … anyhow, I got my order placed and the FFL I’m using is already on file (thanks to a couple of coworkers) so everything is set in place for shipping and receiving :D

I also asked G&R when they expect to ship out and they said the next batch will be going out within the next 7-10 days as they are currently waiting for a delivery.

FYI: G&R Tactical is selling the GSG-5’s for $475 plus $15 for shipping.

Whipper_44 ... I see that the RainbowSIX Vegas2 is due to release in March 08 … is there a current or older version of that game available for the PS2 Gamers?

I like the looks of the collapsible stock in this clip … I’m curious to hear from someone how solid and/or functional it is?

R6Vegas was for the XBox360.. sadly all of the other R6 Games for the Console were terrible.. with the exception of R63 it was descent.
The franchise started as a PC game, the port to console didn't really do teh series justice until Vegas, and even then it had it's issues.

I'm a PC purist though.
