UPDATE ON .22CAL SIGHTS: CMP has completed inspection and packaging of the few hundred sights and hand stops we have accumulated for the .22 cal rifles we have sold over the past 15 years. The available items will be listed on the CMP website and on estore https://estore.odcmp.com/store/catalog/ ... st&cat=PAS at approximately 7:00 AM Central time on Wed, 25 Jan 2012. A small quantity of each item has been reserved for our stores in Camp Perry and Anniston, with the bulk of the inventory reserved for the estore. Sale of these items will be restricted to previous purchasers of CMP .22 cal rifles and a sales limit of one sight set per customer will be in place for the first month. If any sights remain unsold after the first month, the limits will be lifted. We do expect most of these sights to sell out in the first few days.

GARANDS FROM KOREA: Once again our phone lines and email boxes are flooded with requests for information on the purchase of M1 Garands from Korea. The Korea Times reported last week that the U.S. Government had approved Korea's request to sell 86,000 M1 Garands to U.S. importers. CMP is not a firearms importer and if these rifles are sold to U.S. importers, they will not come to the CMP or be sold by the CMP. We will not have any information on the sale of these rifles.

Thank you for your continued support.

The International Harvester would be my preference for one reason alone.

I.H. was into coal mining at the turn of the early 1900's and that was when coal operators not only owned the mines, but they also built and owned the whole town (called coal camps).

They built several towns and communities in my home town.

Yes, there were fewer (only around 38K IIRC) of these made than any of the other three brand names.

CMP Sales Update

*** PLEASE DO NOT REPLY TO THIS EMAIL ADDRESS. THIS IS AN AUTOMATED ACCOUNT
AND REPLIES WILL NOT BE READ ***

As a result of the NY SAFE Act of 2013, effective immediately, all NY customers purchasing any CMP rifles, to include the M1 Garand, to be delivered in NY must have the rifle shipped to a NY licensed FFL dealer in NY for compliance with SAFE Act requirements. Copy of dealer's license and shipping information must be provided with rifle orders. Ammunition orders may still be shipped directly to the customer for the remainder of 2013.

NY customers who have already mailed their rifle orders to CMP should provide custserve@thecmp.org with dealer information or order cancellation instructions. Information can also be faxed to 256-835-3527 or mailed to CMP Customer Service, (Attn: NY Order), 1401 Commerce Blvd., Anniston, AL 36207.

Order and email backlog. CMP has received buckets of orders in the past month and many email inquiries. It will take several weeks for us to catch up on inputting orders and responding to emails. We thank you for your patience.

CMP Oklahoma Games. The CMP Games - Oklahoma, sponsored by the Civilian Marksmanship Program, will be held at the Oklahoma City Gun Club 3-7 April. The CMP Games - Oklahoma will feature clinics, SAFS/M16 match, EIC Rifle Match, GSMM Four Gun Aggregate, Vintage Sniper Match, CMP As-Issued 1911 Pistol Match, Military & Police Service Pistol Match, EIC Pistol match, and several other events! All events will take place at the OKC Gun Club's Range in Arcadia. View the Official Match Program and register for the OK Games at http://www.thecmp.org/Competitions/
CMPGames_OK.htm.

CMP Junior Rifle Camps. Each summer the Civilian Marksmanship Program sponsors a popular series of Junior Air Rifle Camps and Clinics to teach intermediate and advanced rifle marksmanship skills to junior shooters and their adult leaders. All camps are one week long, three-position air rifle camps, with the exception of the Outreach Clinics and the Advanced Standing Camp. For more information, please visit http://www.thecmp.org/3P/Camp.htm. Registration will open on February 5.

CMP Scholarships. The Civilian Marksmanship Program (CMP) offers $1000 one-year scholarships assistance to encourage and reward outstanding and deserving high school seniors on the basis of merit to selected high school seniors who are currently enrolled in a team or club that is participating in rifle or pistol marksmanship competitions. The CMP seeks applications from high school seniors who are currently compete in marksmanship competitions. For more information, please visit http://www.thecmp.org/Competitions/Scholarships.htm. CMP Sales Update

*** PLEASE DO NOT REPLY TO THIS EMAIL ADDRESS. THIS IS AN AUTOMATED ACCOUNT

Aguila .22LR Ammunition. The CMP is sold out of caliber .22 rimfire ammunition. The manufacturer, Aguila, has advised that the earliest we can expect resupply is late April, 2013, at slightly higher pricing. We are still accepting orders and will fill those orders as soon as we have received new inventory. At the rate that orders are being received for this backordered ammunition, the entire resupply quantity may be sold before it is even received. Anyone interested in receiving this .22 ammo should place their order now and get on the list. Place your order on the CMP E-Store at http://estore.thecmp.org/store/catalog/ ... st&cat=AMC.

Lake City Carbine Ammo. The caliber .30 Lake City Carbine ammo that we offered for sale beginning 2 Jan, 2013 will be sold out by 8 Feb, 2013. We still have over 1,000 orders for this ammo that have not yet shipped, but will be filled over the next few weeks. Aguila .30 carbine ammo (CMP Item 438A) is still available for purchase.

Purchase Limit on HXP .30-06 ammunition. As a result of the purchasing frenzy of the HXP .30-06 ammunition, effective immediately CMP is imposing a 10 can per year per customer limit for CMP Item number 4C3006X000-200 and 4C3006X000-200P (200 loose rounds in .30 cal can). The several thousand orders already received either through estore, mail, phone, fax, etc. will be honored. We regret having to ration this ammunition, but are doing so to ensure that future new rifle purchasers over the next 1-2 years have access to some of this ammunition.

Thank you for your continued support.

AGUILA .22LR AMMO. As is the case with many other sellers of .22LR ammo, the CMP has been sold out. We had posted information that we were expecting a resupply in April or May. The distributor has just informed us that the manufacturer "maybe" will deliver 200-300 cases by the end of May, but the remainder of our order will not be delivered until "maybe" October. Many of our customers have already ordered from us and we will fill the orders as the ammo arrives, oldest order to newest order. Thank you for your understanding of what is currently happening to the ammo market in the US.

INTERNATIONAL HARVESTER M1 GARANDS. In 2012 we announced that we expected to begin accepting orders early in 2013. Because of the volume of rifle orders for all options, we will not have the IHC rifles ready for several more months. All of our armorers are now working to inspect and grade the other manufacturers for which we already have received several thousand orders. Thank you for your patience.

SPRINGFIELD ARMORY SERVICE GRADE SPECIAL, RM1SASSP SOLD OUT. We have posted this item as "sold out and not accepting orders" on the CMP web page. We do still have inventory of this item but feel we have enough orders already received and in the pipeline to us to completely sell out the remaining quantity. We request that customers who have submitted an order for this item to not contact us to see if they "made the cut". We expect to fill all orders, but will contact the customer if we cannot. Thank you for your support.

Thank you for your continued support.

CMP Sales Update

*** PLEASE DO NOT REPLY TO THIS EMAIL ADDRESS. THIS IS AN AUTOMATED ACCOUNT
AND REPLIES WILL NOT BE READ ***

CMP Does Not Maintain Waiting Lists. The CMP sales update on 21 Feb 2013 announced that CMP acceptance of orders for IHC M1 Garands would be delayed a few months due to the flood of orders already received by CMP for other items. We included that information in the update to reduce the calls and emails asking for the latest status of the IHC rifles. Now we are receiving calls and emails asking us to place names on a waiting list for the IHCs. We do not know when we will complete inspection and repair, or how many we will have by grade or condition. Prices have not yet been set. The CMP does not maintain waiting lists for any products. If we had waiting lists, each list would already have more names on it than we could ever hope to fill and the lists would be closed. When we are ready to accept orders for IHCs, we will email a notice to all email subscribers and post on our web site that orders will be accepted at that time.

Creedmoor Sports Offering Discount to Members of CMP Affiliated Clubs. Creedmoor Sports is offering discounted products to members of CMP Affiliated Clubs. Please visit http://www.odcmp.com/Sales/Creedmoor.htm to see the list of products available through this program. CMP Affiliated Clubs may also order specified items listed as part of our Delayed Payment Program. Please use the order forms listed at http://www.odcmp.com/Sales/Creedmoor.htm to place your order.

Registration Open for CMP Oklahoma Games & CMP Eastern Games. The CMP Games - Oklahoma, sponsored by the Civilian Marksmanship Program, will be held at the Oklahoma City Gun Club 3-7 April. All events will take place at the OKC Gun Club's Range in Arcadia. The 7th Eastern CMP Games and Creedmoor Cup Matches are co-sponsored by the Civilian Marksmanship Program and Creedmoor Sports, Inc. and will be held at Camp Butner, North Carolina, on 3-12 May 2013. The Eastern CMP Games Matches will take place on 3-7 May. The Creedmoor Cup Matches take place on 8-12 May. All interested shooters, whether new or experienced, recreation-oriented shooters or national championship contenders are invited to participate in these unique, national-level competitions.

New in 2013: The CMP will hold the first traveling Small Arms Firing School and M16 EIC Match on Wednesday April 3rd during the CMP Games Oklahoma and Friday May 3rd during the CMP Eastern Games. The CMP will also be introducing two new Pistol Matches, including the CMP As-Issued 1911 Pistol Match and the Military & Police Service Pistol Match. The Pistol Team match will now be a two man team match. A new Modern Military Category is being added to the GSM Match. Competitors will have the ability to fire in four separate events during the CMP Games. Shooters may choose to fire a Garand, Springfield, Vintage Military or a Modern Military Rifle. Re: CMP M1 Garands

Of my collectible habits, Garanditis is the most dangerous, because as we all know, you can't just get one! I started in 1996 with the DCM, ordered my "single" M1 Garand and lo and behold, DCM was holding a lottery for M1D complete....my lucky day, I was selected for the $650 package deal...mint rebuilt SA, with M84 and all the goodies...then my $300 DCM came in...an H&R. Added a Tractor and then another SA. Hardest to obtain was my Winnie...long story short...traded for it while in Germany...took direct, personal intervention by Sen. Ted Stevens (this was back in 2004) with the state dept and BATF to get an approved ATF Form 6. So I lucked out...the Five Garand Sisters keep my Oly and a few others comfy! CMP is the only way to go!

CMP Sales Update

AND REPLIES WILL NOT BE READ ***

LIMITED INVENTORY AT CMP STORES
(March 2013):

RIFLES: The CMP currently has over 12,000 unfilled orders for rifles, ammo and other items. We also still have thousands of M1 Garands. These rifles all require inspection and repair and grading before being put up for sale. At times the customer demand exceeds the amount that our staff can make ready for sale. This is the case now with the field and service grade M1 Garand rifles. As the CMP armory produces the rifles, they are all being used to fill existing mail orders, some from as far back as the beginning of January. Until we catch up on mail orders, there will not be any field or service grade rifles in the stores at Anniston or Camp Perry. For now, we only have the M1 Service Grade Special ($950), M1 CMP Special ($995), M1C, M1D, M1NM, and Kimber model .82 (.22LR) in stock at both stores. We expect this to continue until late June.

AMMO: The CMP does not have any caliber .223, .22LR, or .30 carbine ammo for sale at either store. We are sold out and expect to receive shipments of these calibers in 3-6 months. We continue to accept orders for these calibers and will fill those orders when we receive the replenishment shipments from the manufacturers. We do have caliber .30-06 ammo at both stores, but a 10 can purchase limit per year per customer applies. We also still have the Atomic caliber .308, but expect to run out in the next 60 days.

Sales Update

CMP TELEPHONE DISRUPTION.
As most of our customers know, there is currently a surge in the country for the purchase of rifles, parts, ammunition and anything related to firearms. Several businesses have stopped taking calls altogether and the FBI NICS operation has indefinitely discontinued taking customer service calls for status of NICS background checks. CMP is also experiencing an extraordinarily large daily volume of calls that occasionally result in temporary meltdown of our phone and voice mail systems. Callers report that they stay on the lines for hours and move up in the queue only to be disconnected or directed to leave a message. We apologize for the inconvenience and highly recommend that callers not remain on hold for more than 10 minutes. Please hang up and try again later or contact us via email at custserve@thecmp.org. This situation is temporary and will resolve itself in time.

CONNECTICUT. Effective immediately, all customers purchasing any CMP rifle to be delivered in CT must have the rifle shipped to a CT licensed FFL dealer to be in compliance with new CT legal requirements. Copy of dealer's license and shipping information must be provided with rifle orders. Ammunition orders may still be shipped directly to the customer until 30 Sep, 2013. CMP will not ship ammunition directly to individual homes after that date. We assume that additional guidance will be provided by CT prior to that date. CT customers who have already mailed their rifle orders to CMP should provide custserve@thecmp.org with dealer information or revised shipping instructions or order cancellation instructions. Information can also be faxed to 256-835-3527 or mailed to CMP Customer Service, (Attn: CT Order), 1401 Commerce Blvd., Anniston, AL 36207.

COLLECTOR AND CORRECT GRADE M1 GARANDS. Because of the high demand and the scarcity of the M1 Correct and Collector Grades, these grades will only be available for sale through the CMP auction site http://cmpauction.thecmp.org/.

CMP STORE INVENTORIES LOW. The CMP currently has over 17,000 unfilled orders for rifles, ammo and other items. We also still have thousands of M1 Garands. These rifles all require inspection / repair / grading before being offered for sale. At times the customer demand exceeds the amount that our staff can make ready for sale. This is the case now with the field and service grade M1 Garand rifles. As the CMP armory produces the rifles, they are used to fill existing mail orders, some from as far back as the beginning of January. Until we catch up on mail orders, there may not be any field or service grade rifles in the stores at Anniston or Camp Perry. For now, we only have the HRA M1 Service Grade Special ($950), M1 CMP Special ($995), M1C, M1D, M1NM, and Kimber model .82 (.22LR) regularly in stock at both stores. Other options may or may not be available in the stores on any given day. We expect the store racks to remain relatively empty until late June. Lately we have had several customers at both stores very disappointed after driving many hours, only to find empty racks.

AMMO SHORTAGE. The CMP is sold out of Aguila caliber .22LR rimfire and Aguila .30 carbine ammunition. The manufacturer, Aguila, has advised that the earliest we can expect resupply is October, 2013, at slightly higher pricing. We are still accepting orders and will fill those orders as soon as we have received new inventory. At the rate that orders are being received for this backordered ammunition, the entire resupply quantity may be sold before it is even received. Anyone interested in purchasing this ammo should place their order on estore now and get on the list. http://estore.thecmp.org/store/catalog/ ... st&cat=AMC.
