Show your AK

Postby John A. » Sun Dec 15, 2013 10:39 am

I looked and didn't see a thread already for the AK series of weapons so it's obviously past time to start one.

Whether it's an AK47, AK74, Shotgun, 308, 7.62x54 or whatever you have, here's the place to show it off.

Here is my German STG (Sturmgwehr) clone variant made in Romania.

It has all new furniture from ATI and Samson and Magpul. But it's all AK at heart.

I never tire of seeing gun pics.

Yeah GM, I have a few different mags with bolt hold open followers. I did finally get the one I ordered from PSA. It took them about a week or so before they shipped it, but I wasn't stressing over a week. I'm not THAT impatient

The chinese versions are "hollow" back while the newer Yugo followers have a cover over the rear portion where the bolt would come into contact with it. While I haven't had trouble from the chinese followers bending or even looking stressed, the yugo do have a hand up on them probably in the long run.

I can get a few pics tomorrow if you want to see detail.

I recently ordered some x39 ammo from http://ammunitionstore.com/ and they were giving away a free korean mag with a case of ammo.

I also just replaced the Samson K rail forend above for a Midwest Industries extended rail.

The samson had been giving me some trouble with the top cover popping off intermittently when firing, and I believe the new MI forend has a superior mount. It's a lot more solid and I think I am going to be a lot more satisfied with it.
