My latest build...

Postby Uberschprung » Sat Sep 05, 2015 6:13 pm

Its been awhile, OA2!!!

Well, ever since I had my ACLsurgery in July I've been really bored. So what do you when you're bored???? BUILD AN AR! duh?!

So, I made a deal on a 16" plinkplus flatop and a stripped lower (LPK Included). I got that built up and thought it was alright... I've built a couple ar's but I've never really made one "mine" aka, I've always had a strict budget. This time I decided to build it the way I wanted-Somewhat lightweight and most importantly for a guy my age, it must look good!

So, I ordered up my upgrades:

Samson EVO 15" Keymod rail
TROY enhanced trigger guard
YHM Annihilator flash hider (Must have a way to kill those zombies! :thumbs up: )
VLTOR extened charging handle
Larue R.A.T. stock

I didn't go all out but, this is what I wanted. Eventually I'd like to start 3 gun, This build is somewhat geared to that. I'm working on getting a pistol I'd use for 3 gun as well. But most likely this idea of 3 gunning is just an exscuse to build something that looks cool. :D

I finshed installing everything today.

First imression of it:
Not too heavy---8.2lbs
I really like the EVO HG! It's SUPER light. And with it's length, it really ables you to get a far grip increasing stability.
Perhaps the best upgrade I bought is the vltor long extenion charging handle. I had to reach over the scope to charge it before. Not anymore!
The trigger guard is nice. I have big hands and I plan on using it with gloves so this upgrade was a must.

Here's some pics before and after.

Oh, I also have a 2 stage trigger that I have ready to drop in.

Thanks Thom.

Got the 2 stage trigger installed yesterday evening and at about 12:30am this morning I decided to install a KNS anti roll pin kit. I guess that pretty much sums up my mods...Oh wait, there's still that knobby saftey selector and that JM compensator and those Magpul pro offest MBUS's... Gah! Too much awesomeness wanted! :bang:

Beign bored is the worst. Especially when it cost you $$$$

Thanks everyone for your thoughts!

I got the go ahead from the PT to go back to worknext week! I look forward to it. Especially after finding out this week I've got to have all my tools for college auto class by the end of this quarter! :yikes:

Typical total for the tools required is about 2k...

Thanks guys.

One of the best triggers I've used in awhile. Since the FNP's aren't very popular, I'm finding that there is a lack of accessories for it....especially holsters....
