Will a FF hand guard fit on a PPFT with OEM gas block?

Postby HeavyG-WV » Sun Feb 08, 2015 12:13 pm

Hello All,
Have any of you ever installed a FF handguard on a PPFT with the original gas block in place? Or do I have to get one that doesn't have the picatinny on top of it?

Thanks in advance!

If you're wanting to use a midlength or rifle length forend over top of it, the railed gas blocks are not low profile enough to allow tubes to fit over them.

Correct. A mid-length handgu8ard will not fit over-top of the picatinny gas block. You'll need to get a low profile gas block for that job. oly has one, but they are also available from most dealers and all over the internet shopping sites for AR's.

Haven't really looked real hard yet. I see them quite often and I think they look really good.

Any Suggestions that won't break the bank?

these Leapers® Free Floating handguards are nice; and their products have really stated getting much better reviews over the past several years; I use their scope rings on just about everything I own.
